We have been in business since 2008, and in the UK we are the number one provider of GP entry preparation material.
In recent years we have noticed that many of our customers hail from Australia which is totally awesome albeit unexpected!
It seems our healthcare and regulatory systems are very similar most likely as a result of our shared Commonwealth ancestry.
- Indeed, the Australian GP assessment process seems to be moving more towards the UK system!
- For instance, a few years ago Australia introduced SJT questions as part of their AGPT assessment process and have now added clinical questions. The UK has been doing this for over 15 years now.
- In addition, our Australian cousins have named their assessment process "stage 2" which is what we call our written assessment process too!
- It would not surprise us if the Australian GP assessment process will soon introduce "mock patient consultations" as part of their assessment as we currently do in the UK.
- Might we also be so bold to venture that questions for the AGPT are sourced from the UK too which may explain why our materials have been so popular down under for so many years!
Our initial concern was that our Australian customers might be put off by the fact that our materials are primarily designed for the UK market.
- But, this does not seem to have dented enthusiasm for our materials.
- As one of our Australian customers puts it "Most candidates who sign up for a pre-exam course are directed to your question banks. The contents are not fundamentally different across the board when it comes to general practice; what differences there are can usually be spotted pretty quickly and easily confirmed in Aussie sources such as Murtagh, the bible of Australian general practice."
In fact last year, our online resources were used more than any other online resource for CAAKT preparation! With the current weakness in sterling, our subscriptions are exceptional value for customers outside of the UK.
We are also finding that many candidates sitting the RACGP PEP (Practice Experience Program) are finding our materials very helpful for their preparation.
